Week one
Reviewing my original objectives
The original project proposal established an ambitious vision for Isomorphic Music: developing a cohesive audiovisual work that combined generative music systems, interactive visuals and digital presentation methods. Since developing the project further, several aspects of the original proposal remain central to the creative identity of the work, particularly the exploration of relationships between sound and visual perception. However, practical experimentation, technical development and reflection have highlighted areas where the original scope requires refinement to ensure the final outcome remains achievable, coherent and professionally presented.

The SFA analysis has shown that the original objectives remain aligned with the overall ambition of Isomorphic Music, but that the scope requires refinement to ensure the project remains achievable and provides strong evidence against the WBO302 Learning Outcomes. The core creative direction remains unchanged; however, the project will focus on developing a smaller number of more resolved outcomes rather than attempting to realise every element of the original proposal. The revised objectives below reflect this refined approach while remaining open to further development as the project progresses.
Diamond nine
Completing the Diamond 9 exercise helped me reflect on the values that underpin my creative practice and influence my decision making throughout the FMP. Creativity was placed at the centre as the main motivation behind Isomorphic Music, with freedom and deep work representing the conditions needed to explore and develop ideas. Purpose, wellbeing and structure reflect the importance of creating meaningful work through a sustainable process. Safety, validation and money remain important considerations, but they are viewed as supporting the development of an authentic creative practice rather than the primary motivation for creating. This reflection has reinforced the importance of balancing ambition with a realistic and sustainable approach to the project.
