MUSIC THAT SHARES A DIRECT STRUCTURAL RELATIONSHIP ACROSS TWO MODALITIES.

Isomorphic Music explores how visual and auditory perception, generative systems and experimental composition tools can create new connections between sound, image and physical interaction.

Through custom built instruments, creative coding and modular synthesis, the project investigates how visual patterns, movement and colour influence musical structures. Rather than composing every element directly, Isomorphic Music creates systems that allow musical ideas to emerge through rules, chance and interaction.

The project combines MAX/MSP, Jitter, modular synthesis and digital processing to explore new approaches to composition where technology becomes a collaborator in the creative process.

Live video and graphic generative systems capture patterns, colour and movement in real time.

Visual features are mapped to musical parameters using custom rules, algorithms and transformations.
